The Soccer Academy and Training of South Florida is under the direction and leadership of one of the top youth coaches in South Florida, Roger Thomas, a former midfielder for the Miami Fusion (MLS) and the Jamaican National Team. Roger played collegiate soccer locally at Florida International University and still holds the record for 11th scoring leader in the school’s history. Roger holds the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) ‘A’ License, USSF ‘B’ License, NSCAA National and Advanced National Licenses, NSCAA Director of Coaching diploma, KNVB Dutch National Federation and Certification and is a Florida Youth Soccer Association Licensed Coach. Coach Roger was the boys Assistant Varsity Coach of the American Heritage High School in Delray Beach, Florida and led them to win the 2005-06 State Championship. Coach Roger is a NSCAA Member and serves as a FYSA Olympic Development Program staff. He has twelve years of coaching/ Director of Coaching experience and has developed many players that have gone onto the college and professional soccer scene.

Coach Laurie Thomas

Laurie is a prize asset to SAT girls soccer coaching and has developed many young talents over the last twelve years. She holds her NSCAA National License, NSCAA Advanced Regional License; Coach Laurie holds a USSF 'C' License as well as the USSF National Youth Diploma and FYSA licenses. Laurie recently completed her Master Coaching Course with FYSA and Soccer Vision Global Premier Educator Course. She is also American Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aide. She played Division I collegiate soccer at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami where also served for one year as Assistant Women’s Coach.

Coaching & Staff

Our coaches and staff shares a passion for the game that is transferred through all of the participants.  Players will be allowed to express themselves, play without fear of making mistakes, be encouraged to make their own decisions in sessions, and discover the enjoyment of soccer.

Coach Sha Hagiel

Coach Sha is an NSCAA National Licensed coach and also holds a National Goalkeeping License. Sha works with over 30 Goalkeepers in Broward County from various clubs and is one of the top goalkeeper trainers in South Florida. As a player Sha has played in the (PDL) and collegiately at St. Thomas University in Miami. As a prep athlete he was named to the Sun-Sentinel and Miami Heralds All county team. Aside from coaching at SAT, Coach Sha also works with 2 of the most prestigious high school and club programs in the area, as an assistant at Monarch High School in Coconut Creek and is a Trainer for The Lady Renegades U18 team (Defending state champions). Shaul also hold a Bachelors Degree in criminal Justice & Education and is a teacher at Monarch High school.

Coach Wolde Harris

Wolde comes to SAT with several years of player and coaching experience. He played at Clemson University, leaving as the college's all-time leading scorer. He joined MLS for the first time in 1997, after spending 1996 with the Colorado Foxes, leading the A-League in goals with 17.

Wolde has been involved in coaching youth football in the United States and Jamaica. Harris coached at Jamaican football powerhouse, Kingston College. He was also the assistant coach at Clemson University in South Carolina through last December. Coach Wolde holds a USSF 'B' Coaching License

Coach DJ

Coach DJ played soccer at Webber University in Orlando, and transferred in 2010 to play at Florida Atlantic University where he majored in exercise science. Growing up he played soccer locally for Coral Springs Storm, Team Boca, and Schulz Academy, and also attended American Heritage School High School in Delray Beach. He is a strong health and fitness advocate, whose number one goal is to push athlete's physical ability to the next level.

Coach Graham Perkovich

Former collegiate player at James Madison University, and five years of coaching experience at the Parkland Predators. Coach Graham has a NSCAA Advanced Regional License. Coach Graham is the SAT defensive specialist.

Eve Suellentrop

Eve is a former collegiate soccer player from the Midwest who has coached high school, travel and recreational soccer in and around Plantation, FL since the 1990’s. She hold a FYSA coaching license, and brings to SAT a love of the game and knowledge of what goes into training youth athletes, not only from a coaching standpoint, but as a parent of youth athletes as well. Eve is the SAT Registrar.

Webmaster Andy Sheehy

Andy brings his talent & experience in the creative marketing field along with his love of the game to help us look great! He is the webmaster for SAT, graphic designer and official photographer (he's the guy out on the fields hiding behind the lens).
